Job Description
Please Note: Selected candidate must reside within two (2) hours of the client Headquarters in Woodlawn MD
Position Description:
The Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Administrator is responsible for providing technical and system administration support through troubleshooting identifying and addressing issues patching and updating of RHEL servers and assist in deploying or installing software or configurations approved for deployment. Tasks for this position includes:
- Assist technical leads in implementing systems and software updates
- Deploy RHEL patches and platform updates
- Document processes procedures and configurations
- Perform daily operations support functions including problem isolation and resolution
- Provide status updates of task and project updates
- Provide system administration support
- Troubleshoot platform and application issues
- Tasks beyond RHEL Administration tasks and lead efforts in developing new strategies for operational efficiencies
- Work with applications teams and stakeholders as the platform technical lead
- Work with highly experienced and technical resources
- All other duties as assigned or directed
Key Required Skills:
RHEL Enterprise Linux 7.x/8.x/9.x Platform Administration installation configuration server patching and upgrading RHEL Ansible Playbook Development and issue or problem analysis and troubleshooting
Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- BS degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 years of prior relevant experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.
- 7 years of experience as a Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.x/8.x/9.x Platform Administration (administration installation configuration optimization backup & recovery)
- 7 years of experience with performance tuning & troubleshooting identifying and resolving memory CPU access networking disk I/O etc.
- 5 years of experience working AWS
- 5 years of experience working with Ansible Playbooks (creating developing updating and executing)
- 3 years of experience with scripting languages for automation tasks and deployments (e.g. Bash Shell and Python)
- Expertise in the Linux commandline environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Required Skills:
- Solid experience as a Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Administrator
- Excellent knowledge and experience with RHEL applications and tools Ansible Satellite RHEVM etc.
- Experience in providing support for installation configuration and troubleshooting of middleware applications
Desired Skills:
- Adept at working independently but also in a team environment
- Demonstrated experience delivering technology solutions in a fastpaced deadline driven enterprise environment
- Excellent understanding of change management testing requirements techniques and tools to ensure high availability of systems
- Experience developing and maintaining Red Hat Ansible Playbooks
- Prior Federal government experience
- Selfstarter highly motivated individual who adapts to a dynamic work environment
- Strong attention to detail with an ability to operate effectively across multiple priorities
Basic Qualifications: Minimum knowledge, skills, abilities needed. Requires 5 to 8 years with BS/BA or 3 to 5 years with MS/MA or 0 to 2 years with PhD Cisco Certified Network Engineers must possess a Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent level of Cisco Certification. CCNP certification must be the Enterprise Core (EnCor) version. Minimum three (3) years of hands-on network experience configuring routing protocols and switching configuration in medium (One Data Center and 600+ locations) to large enterprise (Two Data Centers and 1000+ locations) networks. Minimum three (3) years of hands-on experience with AWS Networking and possess AWS Advanced Networking Specialty certification. Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with these skills will be given preferential consideration. Passed the Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert Written examination within the last one year At least 2 years of experience writing Python scripting language and Regular Expression At Least 3 years of experience implementing Cisco Identity Service Engine (ISE) product in a large multi-data centers and enterprise environment. At least 3 years of experience deploying Cisco Virtual Private Network product such as Cisco ASA and Cisco Wireless LAN in a multi office and large campus environment. At least 3 years of experience working with physical media and equipment associated with each wired and wireless networking. Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical topics to management and non-technical audiences, as well as interface with the customer on a daily basis.
