Job Description

The role of a Project Manager is pivotal in planning executing monitoring controlling and closing projects. They are responsible for the entire project scope project team resources and the success or failure of the project. Key roles and responsibilities include:
  1. Project Planning and Design: Defining the project scope goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  2. Developing Project Plans: Creating detailed work plans which identify and sequence the activities needed to successfully complete the project.
  3. Resource Allocation: Determining what resources (time money equipment etc) are required to complete the project.
  4. Team Management and Leadership: Assembling and leading the project team. This includes providing direction and support to the project team.
  5. Time Management: Developing a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities.
  6. Budget Management: Estimating the costs of the project and managing the budget.
  7. Quality Assurance: Ensuring the project deliverables are up to the required standard and meet the project objectives.
  8. Stakeholder Communication: Managing communications with stakeholders and the project organization. This includes regular project updates and reporting.
  9. Risk Management: Identifying assessing and managing risks to the success of the project.
  10. Problem Solving and Decision Making: Addressing issues that arise during the project and making necessary decisions to keep the project on track.
  11. Contract Management: Managing contracts related to the project where external suppliers are involved.
  12. Monitoring and Reporting Progress: Tracking project performance and progress as compared to the plan.
  13. Compliance and Regulations: Ensuring the project complies with all relevant regulations and legal requirements.
  14. Project Closure: Evaluating what was accomplished releasing project resources and handing over the project to operations (if applicable).
  15. Continuous Improvement: Learning from the project outcomes and using this knowledge in future projects.
