Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze credit applications financial statements and credit reports to assess the creditworthiness of applicants.
  • Evaluate the risk associated with each credit application and make recommendations for approval or denial.
  • Follow established underwriting policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Stay informed about industry trends market conditions and changes in underwriting guidelines.
  • Assess various risk factors including credit history income debttoincome ratio and collateral value.
  • Utilize risk models and scoring systems to make objective and consistent credit decisions.
  • Communicate credit decisions to applicants and when necessary provide explanations for denials.
  • Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to address inquiries and provide guidance on creditrelated matters.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of credit decisions including supporting documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with documentation requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Work with customers to obtain additional information or clarification on credit applications.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns professionally and promptly.
  • Participate in ongoing training to stay updated on industry best practices and evolving underwriting standards.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the enhancement of underwriting practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance Business Economics or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in credit risk underwriting.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Familiarity with credit scoring models and underwriting software.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detailoriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to make sound credit decisions based on comprehensive analysis.
