Job Description
Our client is a leading national infrastructure construction company
operating mainly throughout the United States ( US ) across a range of industries and has a subsidiary in
Bangalore India. The Company s activities include the building
installation maintenance and upgrade of energy communication and utility infrastructure including but
not limited to electrical utility transmission and distribution wind farms solar farms other renewable
energy natural gas and petroleum pipeline infrastructure wireless wireline satellite communication
industrial infrastructure and water and sewer systems.
Responsibilities:
We are looking for an inhouse counsel to review contracts (primarily commercial real estate leases)
provide support to the US Legal Department of the company as directed and to occasionally support the legal
operations indian subsidiary. This position will be based office in
Bangalore India. The major responsibilities for this role are as mentioned below:
Review analyze and manage contracts assigned by US counsel compare them to Company s
templates/guidelines prepare memoranda summarizing the reviewed documents and revise such
documents as needed based on comments received from the Company s business units and US
counsel. The contracts to be reviewed will primarily be commercial real estate leases but may also
occasionally include other commercial agreements and construction agreements. The complexity
of the contracts to be reviewed will depend on the candidate s experience and demonstrated
abilities.
Effectively communicate issues or concerns to US counsel.
Occasionally provide legal counsel and support on basic legal
issues relating to the business.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualification and Skills:
LLB or LLM from a reputed law school with relevant experience.
Must be proficient in the English language (speaking reading and writing) with excellent written
and oral communication skills.
8 to 12 years experience practicing real estate and/or contract law.
Skilled in contract drafting and reviewing (primarily real estate related contracts) required.
Must have ability to hire manage and develop a legal team in the future.
Must be a team player.
Patience and the ability to break down legal matters into everyday language for staff members at
all levels within the organization to understand is essential.
Must be able to work efficiently in a dynamic fastpaced environment. The ability to pivot and
shift priorities/focus quickly is needed to be successful in this role.
Applicants must be eager to learn and must be selfmotivated.
Must be highly organized with strong attention to detail
The highest levels of integrity and legal ethics are required.
Must be able to work effectively and accurately with limited direct oversight.
Some familiarity with the US legal system is a plus.
Experience working in a multinational environment with a USbased entity is a plus.
Working Conditions:
Flexible to work long hours (including some weekends outside of normal business hours as a result
of the time difference between India and the US) as needed.
You will be required to work from the Company s offices in Bangalore (no remote work).
Remuneration: As per Industry standards.
