Job Description
Job Title: Accountant
Department: Accounting
Reports to: Accounting Manager
Location: Corporate Office
Position Type: FullTime
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Project Accountant performs a variety of accounting tasks including managing accounts payable and accounts
receivable and recording and reconciling transactions.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Review and process invoices
Followup on invoice approvals
Make weekly payment selection for check run based on agreed payment terms
Gather and prepare all necessary documents for release of payment
Update and maintain accounting records related to notice to owners lien waivers and sworn statements of
account
Handle calls regarding Accounts Payable
Review and process projectrelated billings to customers
Communicate with project teams regarding unpaid contract billings
Post cash receipts
Prepare and post Journal Entries
Analyze and Reconcile Various GL Accounts and Prepare Monthend workpapers
Reconcile Credit Card Transactions
Obtain and organize information for internal and external audits
Understand SOX guidelines to ensure accurate controls and segregation of duties are in place to meet
compliance
Perform other work as required or assigned
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Experience in the Construction industry
Minimum 1 years experience in Project Accounting
Competency in Microsoft applications including Word Excel and Outlook.
Organizational verbal and written communication skills a must.
Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
In addition to the above listed minimum requirements candidates who poses the following skills experience and
capabilities may receive greater consideration during the evaluation process:
Bachelor s degree in Accounting or equivalent a plus
CPA or chartered accountant a plus
Prior experience working at a Big 4 a plus
accounting,sox compliance,analytical capability
