Receive and transmit emergency and nonemergency phone calls and messages information and inquires over a variety of communication networks to appropriate agencies and personnel. Record classify and maintain records of all communication logs using computer aided dispatching software. Determine priorities of calls for service including life or death situations and dispatch appropriate units for response. Maintain familiarity with major roads streets public buildings and the general geographic locations of the Warm Springs Indian Reservation. Receive information questions and requests for service from the public or emergency services personnel. Maintain strict confidentiality.
Requirements
Must possess a High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Must complete the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) Telecommunications (Dispatcher) and Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) certification course within one year. No felony convictions on record and no disqualifying convictions. Must submit to and pass preemployment alcohol and drug screen.
