The Manager Position:
The Glass Jar Inc. is looking for a handson dynamic manager who is a passionate leader and thinker capable of independently operating The Picnic Basket.
The Manager actively directs their team in defining managing coordinating and setting the standard for all sales service and operations. The Manager is comfortable with taking full responsibility of the restaurant needs. The Manager is available on a consistent and reliable basis to meet all Picnic Basket needs and staffing needs as they arise. This handson position upholds and models our high standards of excellence in both product and service.
The Manager works closely with Upper Management to achieve business objectives at the restaurant level by implementing strategy through skillful execution and effective leadership. A strong sense of ownership is required to succeed in this role as well as the ability to build and nurture vital relationships with team members vendors patrons and the surrounding community.
The Picnic Basket is locally owned and operated by The Glass Jar Inc. a farmtotable restaurant group founded and based in Santa Cruz CA. The Glass Jar Inc. is the management company for The Penny Ice Creamery The Picnic Basket and various community events.

This foundation allows us room to consistently reflect and explore how to improve and optimize.
Supervisory experience in a food service establishment.
Ability to work 40 hours a week consistently. Able to work weekdays weekends and holidays.
Demonstrates the ability to prioritize while being detailoriented.
Ability to lead support and direct the team.
Has an interest in managing shops that strive to be a nexus for community and local sustainable food.
Has an interest or current participation in the local food movement.
