Senior Truss Designer

JOB SUMMARY:

Utilizes computeraided engineering (CAE) software tools to support and optimize the design engineering process for products components or structures. Creates prototypes layouts and models for product components a system or a manufacturing process using CAE tools. Performs analysis to find flaws or inefficiencies in designs and to model solutions. Collects and assembles data. Employs CAE tools to enable benchmarking concept design prototype development simulation and testing protocols. Requires a bachelors degree in engineering or related discipline.Accurately produce drawings and layout for customers and shop drawings for fabrication. Communicate with customers architects engineers carpenters and shop employees to find solutions to problems.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coordinate with manufacturing facilities to ensure accurate and timely production of wood trusses.
• Lead and mentor a team of designers and engineers in the production of wood truss systems.
• Collaborate with sales staff and project managers to develop project scopes timelines and budgets.
• Review project plans and specifications to ensure compliance with building codes safety standards and industry best practices.
• Manage the design and coordination of wood truss systems from concept through fabrication and installation.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvement.
• Develop and maintain relationships with customers suppliers and manufacturers.
• Provide technical support and guidance to customers and sales staff.
• Stay abreast of advances in wood truss design materials and construction methods.
• Ensure compliance with company policies procedures and quality standards.

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE SKILLS:

• Bachelors degree in ArchitectureStructural Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in wood truss design and engineering.
• Experience with truss design software.
• Strong knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Detailoriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• High degree of selfmotivation and independent decision making
