Job Description

2. QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
Essential: Matric or equivalent Senior Certificate.
Degree in logistics supply chain management Fleet or transport management
Valid driver’s licence
Essential: 5 Years relevant experience as a Fleet Manager with proven history
Knowledge of fleet servicing fleet scheduling fleet analysis and operations

4. OVERVIEW
Oversee and manage the company’s fleet of vehicles. Coordinate vehicle maintenance optimizing routes ensure compliance with regulations. Monitors fuel consumption tracks vehicle performance and implement costeffective strategies.

5. ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Fleet Operations
•Oversee the daytoday operations of the company’s vehicle fleet.
•Ensure timely and efficient vehicle maintenance repairs and inspections.
•Optimise routes for cost effectiveness and timely deliveries.
•Issue fleet cards received from Nedbank to stores and individuals.
•Ensure service reminders are issued to all vehicle users.
•Management of employee vehicle use agreements.
•Management of daily vehicle inspection reports

Regulatory Compliance
• Ensure compliance with local and national regulations governing fleet operations.
• Keep abreast of changes in legislation related to transportation and fleet management.
• Ensure vehicle licences are renewed timeously and distribute renewed licences to correct location(s).
Traffick fines:
• Transfer fines to driver’s name if fines are because of driver’s negligence.
• Ensure all fines are paid or transferred to driver’s name.
• Regular checkups on websites for outstanding violations and manage such matters.
• Prepare and submit contracts disposing of vehicles and ensure vehicles are removed from company
records and licencing authority.
• Ensure all employees operating company vehicles has the required/valid driver’s licence for vehicle
they are operating.
Record Keeping
• Maintain records of all vehicle services and tyre replacements
• Detect any anomalies and unusual expenditure.
• Verify fleet card records against any unauthorised expenditure or excessive costs.
• Check and analyse monthly fleet reports.
• Maintain vehicle inspection records and drivers’ licences for all vehicles and employees operating
company vehicles.
• Maintain a file for each company vehicle.
• Maintain service records for all company vehicles.
Team Leadership
• Lead motivate and manage team of drivers mechanics and administrative staff.
• Conduct regular training session for drivers on safety and compliance.
Cost Management
• Develop and manage budgets for fuel maintenance and overall fleet operations.
• Implement costsaving measures without compromising safety and efficiency.
Safety and Risk Management
• Implement and Enforce safety policies and procedures to minimise accidents and injuries.
• Develop and implement risk management strategies for fleet.
• Investigate any matters of concern.
Technology Integration
• Utilize fleet management software for realtime tracking reporting and analysis.
• Stay updated on advancements in technology to enhance fleet efficiency.
Communication
• Maintain open communication channels with drivers mechanics and other relevant stakeholders.
• Address and resolve issues promptly to ensure smooth operations.
Performance Monitoring
• Establish key performance indications (KPI’s) and regularly monitor fleet performance.
• Implement improvements based on data analysis to optimise fleet operations.
• Ensure all company vehicle users sign and acknowledge “Use of a Company Vehicle Policy.”
Vendor Relations
• Manage relationships with suppliers maintenance service providers and other relevant vendors.
• Negotiate contracts an agreement to ensure costeffective services.
• Authorise quotes for tyre replacements servicing and repairs and consult with the bank and vehicle
user.
• Obtain comparative quotations for new fleet vehicles.
• Prepare and submit insurance claims for accidents. Repairs etc. before 30 days has lapsed after
accident.

7. Special Conditions of Employment
Working conditions: (travel workspace etc.)
Be able to support the business after normal working hours.
Must be physically fit.
Be able to travel to different regions when required.

Driver’s licence and own reliable transport
Taking responsibility of company proxy
