Join our Building division as an Intermediate Estimator.
Under the supervision of the Chief Estimator, the incumbent will be called upon to estimate the costs of projects of several types (public, parapublic, private, industrial, commercial, institutional, and residential with multiple units) for which the company has decided to respond to a call for tenders and participate in the coordination of the project.
RESPONSABILITIES
The estimator should be able to manage a submission from opening to closing:
study plans and specifications;
interpret the technical specifications of the tender documents;
analyze and prepare tender documents;
discuss the working methods to be applied, parts of the work to be subcontracted, risks and constraints of the call for tenders;
perform quantity calculations;
evaluate the costs of materials, labor, and necessary equipment;
find prices from subcontractors and suppliers;
establish the work schedule;
communicate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain file clarifications;
participate in mandatory visits and / or client meetings for relevant information;
prepare the review of proposals and ensure that the scope of work is complete;
hold a DEC in building estimation, architecture, civil engineering, or the equivalent;
have a minimum relevant experience of 3 to 8 years;
knowledge of the local construction market and the Building Code;
bilingualism (an asset);
knowledge of OST, Timberline, MS Project, and Windows environment software (an asset).
