About The Role:

As an Elementary Band Teacher you play a crucial role in inspiring young minds and fostering a love for music within students across multiple elementary sites within the Fresno School District. You will be responsible for planning communicating and executing effective instruction based on the California Standards for Music and the Teaching Profession.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement band lessons that cater to the needs of each student aligning with state standards.
• Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to engage students in learning and develop their problemsolving and criticalthinking skills.
• Continuously monitor student achievement and adjust your teaching methods based on student data.
• Manage and organize the repair servicing and replacement of instruments and equipment.
• Plan and organize student concerts creating opportunities for students to showcase their talents.
• Foster positive relationships between students staff and community members contributing to a robust educational community.
• Engage in professional development and seek opportunities for continuous professional growth.
• Participate actively in school district and department activities and meetings.
• Work collaboratively with other staff including administration counseling clerical and other teachers.
• Facilitate the social and emotional growth of students by providing a positive musical experience and encouraging lifelong participation in music.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Music Education or a related field.
• In the process of obtaining a teaching credential or already credentialed.
• Experience teaching band at the elementary level.
• Proficiency in playing and teaching various band instruments.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
