Electrician - Assistant Site ManagerMajor responsibilities:
- Shall be responsible for managing personnel, resources, and activities devoted to the electrical power production operation.
- Shall act as Site Manager upon his/her absence.
- Shall have knowledge of: Principles of electronics and electricity, including generation, conversion, transformation, distribution, and utilization; types, capacity, and purpose of low/medium voltage circuits, circuit breakers, switches, fuses, regulators, relays, instruments, and meters associated with electric generation and distribution; interpreting instrument and meter readings; wiring diagrams, schematics, drawings and technical publications; techniques of operating and maintaining internal combustion engines, generators, generating plants, distribution panels, and accessory equipment; use and purpose of test equipment; safety rules and practices; environmental policies; principles of management; and operation and repair of electrical power production systems.
- Shall meet with government customer as needed
- Shall accomplish inspection and status reports with diagnosis, estimated timeline for repair actions and list of required parts upon discovery of deficiency.
- Shall maintain and adhere to applicable technical orders and good commercial practices for all maintenance actions to include: coordination of work, requesting parts, receiving parts, installing, troubleshooting, testing, and repairing equipment or systems.
- Shall provide written reports of hourly peak demand and fuel consumption, inspections, maintenance, repairs, tests, and certifications of each system or component as required.
- Must be able to multitask and work in a high paced environment. Work with a sense of urgency to complete tasks safely, effectively, and efficiently.
- Responsible for following a comprehensive quality and safety program in compliance with Vectrus, OSHA and United States Air Force (USAF) requirements.
- Responsible for following a comprehensive, flexible, and properly documented training program.
- Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, sanitary, healthy, presentable, professional atmosphere, free of dust, clutter and trash in all working facilities and areas.
- Responsible for proper utilization and safeguarding of all government and contractor provided property (e.g., to include government facilities, equipment, and tools).
- Responsible for precise of company time reporting procedures and accurate completion of timesheet.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Other requirements:
- Work will be primarily indoors but may be outdoors to support various events.
- Exposure to heat, cold, dust, noise, chemicals may occur.
- Overtime and shift work may be required depending on contractual needs.
- Employee must comply with all Federal, State and Local regulations and published Company work rules as well as written instructions.
- Task specific work environment training will be provided as required.
- Must be prepared to function in a wartime environment to support U. S. interests.
- 100% Overseas Assignment.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Certifications : One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
- High School Diploma required.
- Must be a Licensed Electrician.
- Must have and maintain a valid U. S. SECRET Security Clearance prior to deployment.
- Must have a current, valid U. S. Passport.
- Must have a valid U.S. Driver’s License and able to drive with a manual transmission.
- Must be able to communicate in English.
- Must be able to pass employment and deployment qualification requirements that include psychological, medical, dental, drug testing, background checks, etc.
Experience :
- A minimum of five years of experience in electrical power production operations/electrical power generation field.
Preferred Experience:
- Military experience in a contingency environment and knowledge and experience working with government contracts preferred.
Knowledge Base:
- Must have an excellent understanding of all safety directives and polices regarding the operation of electronic equipment.
- Candidates must successfully complete both online and hands on CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear) defense training.
- Training includes the successful fit testing of DoD provided protective gear.
Skills:
- Fluent in English with good verbal, reading and writing skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve technical problems.
- Exercise discretion and good sound judgment.
- Able and willing to work periods of long hours to meet mission requirements.
Software:
- Must be proficient with Microsoft programs such as Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point
