Project ManagerEstimator

Our client Okanagan Urban Contractors is a West Kelowna based company offering general contracting services including Custom home construction residential renovations commercial tenant improvements. They have an immediate need for a Project Manager/Estimator to join their team. Reporting to the General Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing costs and preparing estimates for various projects (both residential and commercial). You will work with other team members and sub trades to create and provide sales proposals and manage construction projects as assigned. In keeping with the company s overall dedication to quality work you will come with a strong sense of detail and excellent communication skills to ensure each project is delivering on what was promised. • Collaborate with engineers architects and project stakeholders to determine the specifications of each project;
  
• Review tender packages and send them out to subcontractors and suppliers;
  
• Review and compare trades quotes;
  
• Work with the President to create proposals and estimates during the sales process;
  
• Create budgets for each project based on quotes received;
  
• Coordinate and schedule projects with customers suppliers and other team members;
  
• Meet with contractors and stakeholders to communicate scope of budgets progress performance and closeouts;
  
• Maintain project timelines and ensure timely completion of tasks;
  
• Evaluate project progress and prepare detailed reports for stakeholders;
  
• Track project expenses and maintain project budgets;
  
• Enforce safety regulations work performance standards rules and working conditions;
  
• Develop creative solutions in the construction process to reduce costs and increase efficiencies.
  

Requirements

• 3 years experience in project coordination and estimating specifically in residential and commercial construction setting;
  
• PMP Designation or P Eng. considered an asset;
  
• Experience working in both residential and commercial construction settings will be considered an asset;
  
• An in depth understanding of the construction industry and understanding of building codes contract law and safety regulations;
  
• Working knowledge of construction documents drawings specifications and current construction practices and methodology;
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  
• Strong understanding of project financials;
  
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software;
  
• Strong experience working with engineers and architects with a complete understanding of interior and exterior renovations;
  
• Strong attention to detail;
  
• Highly organized with the ability to multitask and manage several projects at once;
  
• Strong problemsolving skills;
  
• Experience with basic drafting;
  
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  
  

The salary range for this position is $90000 $110000 per annum.
