The team behind the genius

The Practice Leader is an integral part of the strategy for continually developing and maintaining the robustness of the practice/expertise in the Bridges Centres of Excellence (CE). Under the supervision of the CE Director Bridges they provide leadership influence and professional direction to develop the level of excellence and capacity of the practice.

  • They are the custodian of the knowhow and best practices related to their expertise.
  • Ensure consistency in the deployment and application of best practices.
  • Ensure within the same CE uniformity of practices between regions places of business etc.
  • See to the development of ways of doing things to keep the expertise up to date.
  • Coordinate the action plan for the maintenance and development of expertise with the Director of the CE to which they report and have no hierarchical relationship with the talent.


Main responsibilities :

Technical role

  • Together with the CE Director and team leaders participates in the development of methods and best practices (related to technical expertise not to project management) implements them within their CE and monitors and controls their implementation.
  • Analyzes recommends and promotes the use of technological tools that will increase the efficiency and quality of the practice.
  • Accountable for the robustness of the review process to ensure the quality of services provided (deliverables) in the context of projects handled by their CE.
  • Establishes operational mechanisms to ensure the required consistency and uniformity related to their expertise to support organizational robustness (e.g. from one place of business to another from one team to another etc.).
  • Provides technical support to talent project managers team leaders directors and/or clients.
  • Proposes generates and implements new solutions and ways of doing things.
  • Participates in preparing service proposals based on the requirements of segments.

Management role

  • Actively supports the planning of expertise development needs (through skills development recruitment and/or identification of partners) in collaboration with the Director of their CE according to the tactical plan.
  • Works to disseminate the expertise of the Centre of Excellence to the segments.
  • Informs the segments about business opportunities related to the expertise of their CE.
  • In collaboration with team leaders plays a leading role in supporting and developing the skills of talent in their field of expertise (mentoring).
  • In collaboration with team leaders plays a leading role in assessing the potential and technical competency of talent (attraction promotion).
  • In collaboration with team leaders plays a role in integrating new talent to ensure consistent communication of best practices methods and tools.

Carries out any other tasks associated with their duties.


Our essentials

  • Bachelors degree or technical diploma in a relevant discipline or any combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience or any combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Official member of a recognized order.
  • Proficient in French and English.
  • Proficient with Office suite software and the Internet.

Knowledge experience and others

  • Must be able to speak English fluently.
  • Mobility
  • Mastery of the discipline(s) in question.
  • Recognized within the company as an expert in their field of practice.
  • Possesses experience and extensive knowledge in their field of practice.
  • Must maintain technical involvement in addition to the role of Practice Leader to maintain their status as an expert (design or completion/management of projects with extensive technical complexity).
  • Interest in knowledge transfer and skills development.
