In ODILOs strategic roadmap data has become a key component to foster business growth. Data allows ODILOs teams to better understand the users learning needs to offer them more appropriate content to implement coaching and reinforcement strategies for those users who need a boost etc. To address these challenges ODILOs Data function has decided to reinforce key positions within the team.

As a Data Engineer you will report to the Data Director and work closely with all other business and product areas in ODILO to provide them with insightful information and reports. You will also be involved in interactions with the DevOps team to ensure that all data procedures meet defined security and integrity criteria.

As a Data Engineer you must be proactive willing to learn and adapt to the different challenges that arise on a daily basis. It is also essential that you understand the work environment as a collaboration between team members and not as individual silos. Technically you must be able to work with our AWS environment building efficient and secure procedures to extract data from sources transform and sort it for easy consumption. The differentiating value in the Data Engineer role will be to implement the best possible procedures while minimizing the use of resources.

What you will do at ODILO

• Collect and manage data from different sources in our AWS environment.
• Transform and load data with SQL Python Spark and Athena.
• Own and improve ODILOs data environment.
• Interact with ODILOs product areas to translate their information needs into data procedures.
• Collaborate with ODILOs DevOps team to ensure that all data procedures meet defined security and integrity criteria.
  
  

The ideal candidate will bring:

• Excellent Python/Spark skills and code documentation.
• Good SQL and relational database management skills.
• Excellent understanding of data extraction and transformation processes.
• Experience in the implementation of efficient data processes.
• Experience in using version control services (CodeCommit Git).
• At least 23 years working as a Data Engineer.
• Fluent English spoken and written.

• Experience in managing and exploiting AWS environments (Glue Athena Lamda Step Functions).
• Experience visualization and reporting tools (Quicksight Power BI Tableau)
• Experience in managing large datasets and implementing efficient processes for their computation.
