We seek an experienced, professional, and caring Preschool Assitant Director to join our growing team. The Preschool Assistant Director utilizes sound early education principles in managing a Preschool program. Oversees programming and general supervision of the Preschool program. In Addition, is responsible for the ongoing maintenance of Preschool teachers and all school functions in the absence of the Director. May also function as a classroom teacher and be responsible for the daily supervision and management of a group of children.
Enrollment:
• Support Nursery School and Preschool enrollment goals
• Participates in marketing and the tour/inquiry process
• Send welcome emails and letters to newly enrolled families
Programming:
• Adheres to regulatory and accreditation requirements.
o Maintains compliance with accreditation and regulatory agencies and conforms to health, safety, and licensing regulations.
o Maintains compliance with NC Licensing Standards, BCR, and Accreditation Standards.
• Maintains a consistent flow of the day in the program.
• Participates in strategic planning for the Village and the company.
• Prepares for and participates in monthly QA meetings.
• Supports GWP operations
• Supports inclusion of children with exceptional needs.
• Assists with contributions to the monthly newsletter, per request.
• Plans and supports school-wide events
• Uses ProCare to manage Accountability Notebooks and associated requirements.
• Completes monthly classroom observations per metric requirements.
• Completes monthly fire drills
• Completes and maintains Emergency Preparedness Requirements (EPR).
Personnel:
• Develops and implements Preschool staff schedules to support the effective use of payroll efficiently.
• Manages attendance of employees (initial approval for time off requests).
• Manages callouts.
• Assists with staff meetings and training.
• Works to create and manage summer staff schedules.
• Address staff concerns and compliance with LeafSpring rules and regulations.
• Report all concerns to Director
Parent and Family Support:
• Participates in proactive parent communication focused on partnering.
• First impressions (maintain five senses in the foyer).
Budget:
• Works within a set budget.
Personal Development:
• Maintain ongoing professional growth to include a mandatory 30 professional development hours annually, with ten hours coming from outside of LeafSpring School.
• Plays an active role in professional organizations.
Support of Administrative Assistant Duties:
• Manages Preschool student files (the actual file).
• Organizes additional billing and gives school-wide AA to post in ProCare.
• Print weekly rolls and associated documents.
• Maintains updated photos in ProCare.
Minimum Qualifications:
A. A love for children and an ability to relate well with them, their families, and teachers.
B. Baccalaureate degree in early childhood education, child development, or another child-related field.
OR
A Baccalaureate degree or higher in a non-related field and 12 semester hours in child-related
subjects
OR
Associates or CDA in early childhood education, child development, or other child-related fields.
C. 2 years experience teaching young children
D. 1-year experience in a supervisory position in early education
E. Previous experience in a NAEYC accredited program preferred.
F. CPR and 1st Aid and ServSafe certified or obtain certification upon hire.
G. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
H. Positive attitude and strong work ethic - must be a team player!
I. Willingness to work a flexible schedule between the hours of 6:15 am - 6:45 pm
J. English proficiency.
K. Coursework in a field related to child development is required.
L. Must be 18 years of age required
M. For certain positions, you must have a clean driving record, be over 21, and have held a valid
driver's license for at least five years. Subject to CBC check.
N. Ability to bend, stoop, twist, kneel, sit, walk, stand, reach above head, and move up and down from the floor to lift children.
O. Must be able to lift a minimum of up to 50 lbs
P. Must have color/depth perception and delicate hand & finger movements.
Q. Necessary traits for this position are: Seeing, Hearing, Talking, Reading, and Writing.
R. Working conditions include interacting with co-workers, parents, children, vendors, and customers.
S. Working conditions are exposure to loud noises, odors, and fumes from paint or other art materials, which varies from inside to outside and from hot to cold.
