Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine and emergency tests on blood serum spinal fluid and other body fluids using both automated and manual equipment as per specific procedures. Diligently monitor specimens to ensure the timely completion of work.
- Thoroughly review data before release and promptly report any panic abnormal or critical values.
- Manage and uphold quality control data on tests performed swiftly addressing and documenting any QC failures in accordance with laboratory procedures.
- Prepare reagents maintain inventory and provide necessary advice to the supervisor.
- Keep detailed records of all work performed and ensure the accurate maintenance of equipment logs.
- Assist in answering telephone inquiries and carry out order entry in the Laboratory Information System (LIS) as necessary.
- Potentially oversee the work of a laboratory unit assuming individual responsibility and providing leadership for fellow technicians.
- Play an active role in training new employees sharing knowledge and expertise for effective onboarding.
- Maintain a clean work area in strict adherence to Infection Control guidelines.
- Undertake various other laboratoryrelated tasks under the guidance of a supervisor as needed.

Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in a physical science medical technology preferred
- New York State Department of Education Clinical Laboratory Technologist License
