Our cuttingedge client is looking for a Clinical Lab Technologist for their Division of Clinical Pathology utilizes advanced computer technology and stateoftheart automated equipment across multiple sites serving various healthcare facilities.
- Execute routine and emergency tests on blood serum spinal fluid and other body fluids utilizing both automated and manual equipment based on the specific procedure.
- Vigilantly monitor specimens to ensure timely completion of work.
- Conduct thorough reviews of data before release promptly reporting any panic abnormal or critical values.
- Manage quality control data resolving any failures and meticulously documenting actions as per laboratory procedures.
- Take charge of reagent preparation inventory management and advise the supervisor as needed.
- Maintain comprehensive records of work performed and equipment maintenance logs.
- Assist with telephone inquiries and perform order entry in the Laboratory Information System (LIS) as necessary.
- Assume individual responsibility for a laboratory unit and provide leadership for technicians when required.
- Contribute to the training of new employees.
- Uphold a clean work area in accordance with Infection Control guidelines.
- Undertake other laboratoryrelated tasks under the direction of a supervisor as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum requirement of a Bachelor s degree in a physical science with a preference for medical technology.
- Possession of a New York State Department of Education Clinical Laboratory Technologist License
- Proficiency in operating laboratory and hospital information system computers a variety of automated equipment and other laboratory tools is essential.
