Job Title: General Litigator

Location: London NW1

Company Overview: I am working with a leading legal firm with a diverse practice including criminal legal aid contracts. Operating across five offices with a current turnover of 5.5 million we provide comprehensive legal services. Our main office and administrative hub are located in Camden.

Responsibilities:

1. Case Management:
   

   • Handle a diverse caseload encompassing civil and criminal litigation matters.
     
   • Conduct legal research and analysis to develop effective case strategies.
     
   • Draft legal documents pleadings and correspondence.
     

2. Client Representation:
   

   • Provide highquality legal representation to clients in court proceedings.
     
   • Advise clients on legal matters potential outcomes and strategies.
     
   • Maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and responsiveness.
     

3. Negotiation and Dispute Resolution:
   

   • Negotiate settlements and resolutions on behalf of clients.
     
   • Explore alternative dispute resolution methods such as mediation or arbitration.
     
   • Work towards achieving the best possible outcomes for clients.
     

4. Court Appearances:
   

   • Represent clients in various courts including magistrate courts county courts and high courts.
     
   • Prepare and present legal arguments in court hearings and trials.
     
   • Attend case management conferences and pretrial hearings.
     

5. Legal Research and Analysis:
   

   • Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting litigation.
     
   • Conduct legal research to support case strategies and arguments.
     
   • Collaborate with colleagues to share knowledge and insights.
     

Requirements

• Qualified solicitor with a strong background in general litigation.
  
• Proven experience handling a diverse caseload.
  
• Excellent legal research writing and analytical skills.
  
• Strong advocacy skills and experience representing clients in court.
  
• Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
