We are LEDCity a cleantech startup founded in Zurich with the goal of reducing energy consumption in the lighting sector worldwide by 80%. To achieve this we are developing a globally deployable lighting system that uses sensors to control the lighting according to demand.

Tasks

Main Tasks:

• You design develop and test hardware using ECAD tools such as KiCad.
• You design develop and test firmware in C/C for our lighting and IOT products.
• Be part in development and automation of production and test processes using Python.
• You collaborate with crossfunctional teams to define product requirements specifications and architecture.
• Perform thorough testing debugging and validation of hardware and firmware designs to ensure compliance with industry standards and product requirements.
• You drive initiatives to continuously improve the performance functionality and usability of smart lighting products.

Side Tasks:

• Initiation and monitoring of PCB production runs.
• Analysis and evaluation of telemetry data from products in the field.
• Provide training on processes and products to the extended internal team.
• Keeping abreast of industry trends new technologies and best practices in hardware and firmware development to drive innovation and maintain a competitive advantage.

Requirements

Must Haves

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering ETH / FH / TU (Electrical Engineering).
• Min. 23 years of work experience and several of them in the hardware/firmware area.
• Proven experience in the design and development of embedded systems hardware circuits and firmware for consumer electronics or IoT devices.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C Python for embedded systems.
• Strong understanding of hardware design principles PCB layout signal integrity and power management.
• Experience with microcontroller/microprocessorbased systems wireless communication protocols (e.g. Bluetooth Low Energy Zigbee Bluetooth Mesh Cellular) and sensor integration.
• Familiarity with software development tools version control systems and debugging techniques for embedded systems.
• Excellent problem solving skills attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a fastpaced collaborative environment.
• Highly independent systematic and analytical approach to work.
• Excellent English language skills and good knowledge of German.

Nice to Haves

• Network in the hardware sector (sensors / electronics / production).
• Experience with global supply chains.
• Linux operating system knowledge.
