Job Description


To manage the purchase ledger process organising invoices reconciliations and payments.
To run an efficient purchase ledger service for the accounts function monitoring how much is
owed to provide accurate information to the Financial Controller.




























































To match purchase orders to invoices checking that all details on the invoice are correct coding
them and entering this information onto the Sage200 system.
To escalate invoices to the appropriate person when they do not have a purchase order number
and get invoices approved by the relevant person to check that we have received the
product/service.
To pay invoices via BACS and cheques in a timely manner (before the invoice due date) and filing
invoices once paid.
To deal with any purchase queries from internal and external stakeholders resolving issues in a
polite and timely manner.
To set up new supplier accounts and maintain existing account details within the purchase ledger
and reconcile and check supplier statements.
To complete supplier statement reconciliations and review creditor s balances.

Bachelor s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Mid-level experience in financial management, accounting, or financial analysis, preferably within the legal industry. Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting practices, and legal billing guidelines. Familiarity with legal processes, terminology, and regulations (or a willingness to learn them quickly). Proficient in using financial management software such as Xero, Dext, and Clio. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and generate actionable insights. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration. Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Integrity, discretion, and a commitment to maintaining client confidentiality. Ability to think critically and ambitiously, aiming to grow into a CFO position within the next 5 years at [Company Name].
