Oversee the bimonthly payroll processing within ADP including reviewing employee change requests
Ensure accuracy in processing payroll transactions including salary adjustments bonuses and deductions
Advise on changes in tax laws and regulations affecting payroll processing
Administer employee benefits programs including health insurance retirement plans and other fringe benefits
Ensure compliance with federal state and local regulations governing payroll and benefits
Ensure labor laws are applied to payroll and benefits practices accordingly
Maintain accurate and uptodate records of employee payroll and benefits information and generate and analyze payroll and benefits reports for management and other stakeholders
Work directly with the Human Resources team on employee onboarding and offboarding as it relates to payroll and benefits.
Support with the preparation of reports for audits and assist auditors as needed and manage annual audits of employee insurance policies including workers compensation and the 403b plan audit
Support communication with external vendors such as ADP and benefit plan administrators
Requirements
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Familiarity with nonprofit structures practices and organizational cultures
Strong interpersonal and communication skills both written and oral
Accuracy and attention to detail is absolutely required as well as a track record of reliability confidentiality and conscientious work habits
Ability to organize and prioritize effectively
Ability to adapt and work efficiently in a rapidly changing dynamic environment with deadline pressures
Ability to retain information and affiliations of our projects
Ability to operate at a sustained fast speed in completing tasks on a daily basis
Experience
Five to seven years of experience in payroll processing and benefits administration
Experience managing payroll and benefits programs for employers with 100 employees
Indepth knowledge of payroll systems tax regulations and benefits programs across multiple states & jurisdictions
Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now software is a must
Experience in Microsoft Office with intermediate to advanced skill level in Word Outlook Excel and PowerPoint
