WebBeds is the world s fastest growing provider of accommodation distribution services to the travel industry. Our products incorporate distribution APIs, payment integrations, ERP integration, Data Lakes, User Interfaces, and others. Our search API reach peaks of more than 50.000 requests per second, each one consisting of tens or hundreds of hotels, with continued expansion.

Objectives of this role:

We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer to join our growing team. Ideally someone coming from a software engineering background with the capability to develop data centric applications.

This person will be responsible for expanding and optimizing our data and data pipeline architecture, as well as optimizing data flow and collection for cross functional teams. The ideal candidate is an experienced data pipeline builder and data wrangler who enjoys optimizing data systems and building them from the ground up.

You must be comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple teams, systems and products. The right candidate will be excited by the prospect of optimizing or even re-designing our company s data architecture to support our next generation of products and data initiatives.

• Develop and maintain data pipelines and build out new API integrations to support continuing increases in data volume & complexity.
• Collaborate with analytics and business teams to improve data models that feed business intelligence tools and increase data accessibility.
• Implement processes and systems to monitor data quality, ensuring production data is always accurate and available for key stakeholders and business processes that depend on its work.
• Perform data analysis required to troubleshoot data related issues and assist in the resolution of data issues.
• Define company data assets (data models) for S3, Athena, relational databases and similar technologies in public cloud infrastructure.
• Design data integrations & data quality framework.
• Work closely with all business units and engineering teams to develop strategy for long term data platform architecture.

The skills we would love to see in your suitcase!

• Software engineering background with 2+ years experience as a Data Engineer.
• Bachelor s degree in computer science or other highly technical, scientific discipline.
• Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.
• Experience building and optimizing big data data pipelines, architectures and data sets.
• Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management.
• A successful history of manipulating, processing and extracting value from large disconnected datasets. Experience within cloud environments.
• Attention to detail with robust analytical skills.
• Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Time management and organizational skills.
