Sr Product Engineer

Job Overview:

As the Senior Product Engineer youll take the helm in steering the design development validation and release of lithiumion battery modules and packs. These are tailormade for specialized industrial and military uses. Your role involves close collaboration with various stakeholdersproduct development engineers suppliers test engineers prototype technicians customers program managers and operations leaders. Delivering topnotch products that not only meet but exceed technical and business goals is the ultimate aim. Youll need to comprehend and follow instructions outlined in manuals for this role which operates within a controlled temperature environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct comprehensive reviewsrequirements test readiness and designto ensure alignment with stakeholder needs.

2. Uphold compliance with customer requirements and maintain meticulous records throughout the product development phase.

3. Manage requirement changes conduct impact analyses and aid in scope management.

4. Provide robust support to various engineering groups to achieve comprehensive product design and validation.

5. Oversee the creation of crucial design elementsmodels prints electrical schematics PCBA layouts and BOMensuring revision control.

6. Standardize critical characteristics and inspection criteria for components and assemblies.

7. Develop and implement assembly and functional test specifications for the battery system and its subsystems.

8. Assist in supplier evaluation and selection processes.

9. Create support and update risk assessment and validation documentation as needed.

10. Directly oversee prototype creation and validation testing for designs.

11. Collaborate with Business Development to gather product requirements and secure customer approvals.

12. Implement a closedloop approach to issue resolution for risk mitigation failure prevention and continuous improvement.

13. Provide cost and timing estimates for cell module and pack development and validation proposals.

14. Work diligently to prevent errors and omissions in tasks.

15. Offer advisory support to the department manager when required.

16. Accountable for meeting team targets and key performance indicators.

17. Adhere strictly to safety protocols in all operations.

18. Physical presence and involvement in jobrelated activities are imperative.

Managerial Responsibilities:

Possibly supervise 12 team members as part of a productfocused development team.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Engineering from an ABETaccredited institution (Mechanical Electrical Chemical or Systems Engineering).

Minimum 7 years experience in product development and design release within a phasedgate project management system.

At least 3 years involvement in battery system projects.

Skills and Abilities:

Profound experience in battery system product development.

Ability to lead direct and motivate teams effectively.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Proficiency in integrating mechanical electrical and software elements into enduser products.

Extensive knowledge across Mechanical Electrical Systems and Industrial engineering with expertise in at least one discipline.

Understanding of battery management system principles and associated electrical hardware and software.

Practical expertise in Solidworks CAD software for design management.

Experience in designing structural parts through various fabrication means.

Competence in DFMEA and DVP and amp;R for electrical/mechanical systems.

Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis and/or Design for Six Sigma projects.

Proficient in Microsoft Office particularly MS Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters degree in Engineering.

Data analysis skills using Excel Macro language Python and MATLAB.

Experience in FEA thermal vibration and shock analysis.

Ability to interpret electrical schematics and direct electrical system diagnostics.
