We’re looking for Early Head Start Lead Educator to join our team who can confidently prepare lesson plans that align with Joyful Tots Childcare and Learning Centers' holistic standards and instruct students in lessons and activities to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth.

Responsibilities:
- Knowing and practicing Joyful Tots' philosophy, mission, and core values
- Providing an environment that ensures the health and safety of all children
- Developing, implementing, assessing, and auditing age-appropriate holistic experiences for a designated age group, including lesson plans, materials, assigning and evaluating homework, and classroom activities
- Encouraging self-motivation in children and building self-esteem
- Instructing students individually and/or in groups and adapting teaching methods to meet students’ varying needs and interests
- Providing additional help by tutoring, preparing, and implementing remedial programs for students in need of extra assistance
- Meeting with parents/guardians to discuss student progress and learning priorities
- Preparing students for advancement by encouraging them to explore learning opportunities and persevere with challenging tasks
- Overseeing assistant teachers and co-educators
- Having professional, positive interactions with all children, parents, staff, and the public
- Observing and monitoring children’s play activities
- Sanitizing toys and play equipment daily and maintaining classroom cleanliness and decor
- Assisting with dressing/changing children, changing diapers/pull-ups, and potty training
- Performing other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Have a high school diploma/equivalent or higher, plus relevant work experience in education and/or childcare
- Complete Pediatric CPR and First Aid training within 30 days from the hire date
- Complete Bloodborne Pathogen training within 1 day from the hire date
- Provide a negative TB test result document
- Be willing and able to continue their education by earning certificates and completing semester and clock hours.
- Be able to be flexible in assignments and work hours
- Be able to problem solve and act quickly in a crisis
- Be willing to be a mandated reporter
- Respond quickly and appropriately to the frequently changing needs of infants, toddlers, young children, adults, and colleagues.
- Be able to work independently and in collaboration with others through info-sharing meetings and other activities.
- Be self-directed and motivated, and possess a solid holistic educational philosophy.
- Have reliable transportation
- Be able to handle the physical demands of caring for young children, including sitting, standing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, lifting, and carrying up to 50 lbs., and have good hearing and vision to monitor activity.

Pay:
$16.25 Currently with a $5 an hour hazard pay through March 31st.
