Salary: $185,000
The Federal Affairs Director is responsible for representing the organization and its members on Capitol Hill and as appropriate, the Legislative Branch.
The Federal Affairs Director is also responsible for developing lobbying and related advocacy strategy on assigned issues; managing and collaborating with outside counsel and lobbying consultants; scheduling and facilitating meetings with lawmakers and staff; as well as responding to congressional inquiries and requests to testify at public hearings.
The position collaborates closely with appropriate in-house staff and reports directly to the Vice President, Federal Affairs.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree plus graduate degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience
- Eight years advocacy or relevant experience
- Ability to manage complex policy issues, contribute to team success, and serve as an advisor to internal customers
- Enthusiasm and tenacity to work in a fast-paced environment in an effort to advance the mission and priorities of the organization
