Job Description

Are you looking for a career in finance including payroll as well as knowing that you are giving something back to your local community by working in a wellestablished charity working with young people You will be part of a small team providing day to day financial support to the whole of the charity.

Your role will be to support the Finance Manager by managing the charitys monthly payroll (c80100 employees) and supporting the full range of financial processes and reporting including liaising with suppliers to ensure timely payments. You will support managers in reporting on charity grant funded projects. You will have a good attention to detail be able to work well in a team and be able to learn new skills

Tasks

  • Payroll
  • Finance
  • Ability to raise orders process payments and run recording reports
  • Supporting the reporting of month end journals
  • Credit control including liaising with suppliers and grant funders to get achieve timely payments
  • Handling and managing petty cash systems and reporting
  • Preparing and checking employee expense claims ready for authorisation
  • Support reporting of financial information to budget holders the CEO and the Board of Trustees

Requirements

  • Experience of payroll systems (QuickBooks Online payroll experience would be desirable)
  • AAT qualified or studying towards qualification (desirable)
  • High level of computer literacy and proficient in the suite of Microsoft365 Excel Word and Outlook
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good communicator
  • Ability to use financial systems to raise orders process payments
  • Demonstrates excellent approach to customer service both written and oral.
  • Ability to work effectively without close supervision
