Academic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, electronics, or related field). A master's degree or advanced training courses in instrument reliability may be beneficial.
Experience: Hands-on experience in hardware reliability, including data analysis, hardware testing, and performance evaluation. Previous experience is usually considered necessary and varies in extent required, but the progression of a third engineer often ranges between 2-5 years of experience.
Technical Knowledge: A deep understanding of the technical concepts associated with hardware reliability, including statistical analysis, computer science, hardware failure prediction, and preventative maintenance strategies.
Analytical skills: The ability to analyze data and information to provide reliable reports and recommendations to improve the performance and reliability of devices.
