Job Description

Position: Process Control Engineer

Location: Griffin GA

Duration: Full Time

Summary: The main function of a manufacturing engineer is to apply engineering theory and principles to problems of industrial layout or manufacturing production. A typical manufacturing engineer has the ability to make engineering drawings and read and interpret blueprints.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Study time motion methods and speed involved in maintenance production and other operations to establish standard production rate and improve efficiency.
  • Interpret engineering drawings schematic diagrams or formulas and confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
  • Read worker logs product processing sheets and specification sheets to verify that records adhere to quality assurance specifications.
  • Aid in planning work assignments in accordance with worker performance machine capacity production schedules and anticipated delays.
  • Prepare charts graphs and diagrams to illustrate workflow routing floor layouts material handling and machine utilization.

Skills:

  • Creativity verbal and written communication skills analytical and problemsolving ability.
  • Team player and detail oriented.
  • Ability to make sketches engineering drawings and common computations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints technical drawing schematics and computergenerated reports.
  • Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field such as Computer Aided Design (CAD).

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in engineering required.
  • 24 years experience required.

Positions Contributions to Work Group:

  • Maintain and communicate quality issues to suppliers; Work with suppliers to provide corrective actions (Both ICA and PCA).

Typical task breakdown:

  • Collaborate with suppliers and production teams
  • Track RMAs
  • Support SDE on PPAP and QCLDM metrics
  • Will investigate and coordinate parts.

Interaction with team:

High especially with Operation and Engineering

Education & Experience Required:

Bachelors degree in any Engineering field

2 year experience in manufacturing environment required regardless of level of education education experience does not qualify.

Masters or above will not be considered overqualified but a PhD would be considered overqualified

Will not consider internship experience

Technical Skills (Required)

Interpret engineering drawings and schematic diagrams.

Experience with MS Excel and MS PowerPoint

Read manufacturing work instructions product processing sheets and specification sheets to verify that records adhere to quality assurance specifications.

Knowledge of quality tools (ex Fishbone)

Understanding of PPAP

Understanding of process resolution processes via 8D methodology

(Desired)

Power BI experience understanding of APQP.

Soft Skills (Required)

Effective verbal and written communication

Maintain healthy relationship with all business partners.
