Job Description

Viking has always been devoted to maintain the top quality of products and service across all levels. With this new role target to enhance our quality department with regards to modern HSE challenges. We are looking for a really HSE/ESG ambassador whose mission will be to create a safetyfirst culture and consistently work on continuous improvement in all spheres of Viking operations to be compliant with latest ESG and ECOVADIS regulations starting with Luxembourg headquarters and further spreading the initiatives to all Viking EMEA locations.

Tasks

Responsibilities:

Initiate manage and drive key projects related to HSE

  • Work with external agencies and regulatory authorities to develop safety measures
  • Assist with energy reduction projects and the company goal of carbon neutrality
  • Ensure staff awareness and provide trainings in Group directives and HSE management practices
  • Perform industrial hygiene testing
  • Develop and rollout global HSE guidelines policies procedures and programs in line with global standards
  • Develop and rollout gap analysis and audit tools for operations
  • Develop and implement HSE nonconformance plan
  • Prepare monthly quarterly and annual HSE performance reports
  • Lead and manage other related HSE project work as required
  • Be responsible for both strategic environmental health and safety leadership and handson HSE support for business operations
  • Ensure compliance with all local national and international HSE regulations

Main duties:

Prevent risks related to the safety of people and property the environment and security which could hamper the operation of the site

  • Create and act as a leader of the Safety/Environment Management Committee define and prioritize actions and objectives proposed in the sites safety/environment policy and act as a source of proposals for improvement actions
  • Develop and implement the sites policy on the safety of people and property the environment and security
  • Take appropriate decisions in the event of serious and imminent danger
  • Develop and implement measures to reduce the severity of accidents at work and occupational illnesses
  • Ensure within the site that the requirements related to the Management Systems are established implemented and maintained in accordance with the requirements of the ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards
  • Ensure that the site complies with the Group directives applicable to the sit
  • Ensure within the site that the ESG and ECOVADIS requirements are established implemented and maintained

Reporting line and Travelling:

The role reports to Quality Manager EMEA and requires seldom traveling within EMEA (appr. 25% of time)

Requirements

Qualifications and skills:

  • Degree in Occupational Safety Environmental Science Engineering or a related field
  • HSE or equivalent experience ideally within the machinery building industry
  • Knowledge of HSE management system standards (ISO45001 OHSAS18001 ISO14001 ISO50001 etc.)
  • Experience implementing ISOseries standards and HSE strategies
  • Knowledge of Luxembourg and EU regulations related to HSE standards
  • Knowledge of occupational safety and health regulations
  • Knowledge of environment regulations
  • Fluency in English and French
  • Skills in project management
  • Certification in Occupational Health and Safety or as travailleur dsign in Luxembourg is a strong plus
  • Skills in ESG and ECOVADIS are a plus
