Environmental Data Scientist for Crop Modelling

We are Klim a Berlinbased cleantech company revolutionizing climate protection by scaling regenerative agriculture in Germany and Europe. We have launched the worlds first digital platform for regenerative agriculture which is already being utilized by thousands of farmers. By marketing the associated climate protection services to companies we provide financial compensation to farmers for their regenerative practices and offer highquality advisory services. Supported by leading investors including Atlantic Food Labs Ananda Impact Ventures and AgFunder we are now expanding our team and seeking an Enviromental Data Scientist (m/w/d) with experience to help us continually improve our digital product.

Tasks

• Utilize your experience to contribute to the development of hybrid crop models by applying biogeochemical processbased simulation models to enhance our understanding of agricultural systems
• Streamline the acquisition and integration of diverse datasets essential for environmental modeling
• Develop efficient strategies to handle limited sets of data and ensure data accuracy and reliability
• Explore and integrate remote sensing applications into crop models to to establish cuttingedge model structures.
• Engage with agronomy specialists to incorporate fieldlevel knowledge into crop models foster collaboration between data science and agricultural domains to create models that align with realworld farming practices

Requirements

• You have a Ph.D. or experienced Masters in Agronomy Agriculture Crop Science Soil Science Geoinformatics or Geostatistics
• You have experience in modeling crops in agricultural systems using biogeochemical processbased simulation models
• You have experience with common process based crop and soil models and proficiency in handling limited sets of data and data sourcing
• You have firsthand experience with remote sensing applications
• You have strong analytical skills enabling you to derive insights and make datadriven decisions
• You are fluent in English facilitating effective communication and collaboration with our diverse team. German would be a nice plus.
