Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Business Developer for all products and services for the software division of SynchroGrid. This role is responsible for managing client engagements in the assigned region within all the business areas including innovative technologies. This person is responsible for promoting key service offerings setting commercial strategy with clients creating a business plan and delivering results. The Business Developer is also responsible for leadership regarding business leads proposals and contract cycle across other departments in the company.

This role will be based out of our Bryan TX office but can be remote.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Business Development leadership for a specified region within the U.S.
  • Work with the marketing department to promote the software products by creating marketing campaigns developing value proposition material brochures etc.
  • Travel to customer sites to present software offerings.
  • Reach or exceed business targets.
  • Develop and maintain account management plans for Major Managed Accounts (MMA) Tier 1 Accounts (T1) and Tier 2 Accounts within assigned region.
  • Create new prospect lists sales plans and new customer accounts.
  • Update CRM tool to keep track of leads.
  • Work with partner companies and universities to promote products.
  • Identify new partners that could help promote the product.
  • Help organize priorities based on market need.
  • Identify market segments and territories with the best fit to software service offerings.
  • Work with Software Leadership Team to achieve overall business targets.
  • Develop and continuously update business strategy for the US geographical area and support developing/updating the software business strategy.
  • Identify and pursue business opportunities for all software products and services.
  • Use existing contacts or create new ones to generate projects.
  • Follow up with customers and set up meetings to support business leads and proposals.
  • Manage MSAs (master service agreements) and contracts for the clients in the region.
  • Provide Management skills for the business leads proposals and contract cycle.
  • Present individual and overall software competencies and offerings to customers.
  • Gain the utmost confidence and trust of the customer in your abilities.
  • Support marketing promotions trade shows conferences customer presentations as required.
  • Leverage software synergies and resources.
  • Be a team player promoting overall software’s strengths and innovative services.
  • Follow company’s processes strategic directions and vision.
  • Make recommendations to operations staff to initiate the preparation of proposals.
  • Understand the customer’s need and help identify the best operational team to execute.
  • Support the development of proposals.
  • Follow up on proposals in the market routinely executed during the business development/operations meetings once a month.
  • Follow up with customers to document lessons learned and competitive intelligence from lost proposals.
  • Monitor the account health by participating in key project review meetings.
  • Be the customer’s advocate by ensuring customer expectations are met and exceeded.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a Bachelor's or Master's of Science in Engineering Technology or Business (or a related degree) from an ABET accredited engineering school.
  • The candidate must have at least 10 years of professional experience as a business developer or communications professional.
  • This candidate should have at least have 5 years of experience in the power industry and have strong familiarity with System Protection.
  • Knowledge of marketing practices procedures and design principles.
  • Knowledge of current and emerging web publishing standards and best practices related to accessibility and usability.
  • Skill in design illustrations infographics and data visualizations.
  • Skill in typography color and layout composition.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects through multiple revisions from concept to completion.
  • Ability to manage time and schedules.
  • Ability to work on projects of all scales and types both collaboratively and independently.
  • Ability to work with Adobe Creative Cloud.
