Were seeking a Director of Hardware Engineering to lead our hardware division collaborating closely with our CTO. This role is pivotal in developing and implementing our innovative autonomous transport platforms and associated devices aimed at enhancing patient care improving operational efficiency and reducing healthcare costs.
Tasks
- Lead the strategic development and execution of our autonomous intrahospital patient transport vehicle.
- Build guide and mentor a highperforming engineering team fostering a culture of innovation collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders including hospital administration clinicians and patients to ensure the solution meets diverse needs and exceeds expectations.
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of the autonomous vehicle systems design development testing and validation ensuring compliance with industry standards (ISO13485) and regulations.
- Proactively manage quality control and address technical challenges and risks throughout the development process.
- Liaise with external partners and suppliers for seamless integration of hardware and software components.
- Continuously monitor technological advancements and industry trends to inform product development and strategic decisionmaking.
- Manage project budgets and timelines effectively to ensure timely and costefficient delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering Robotics Computer Science or a related field.
- At least 6 years of engineering experience with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role. Startup experience is advantageous.
- Proven track record in autonomous vehicle systems or robotics development preferably in healthcare contexts.
- Expertise in autonomous vehicle technologies including sensors actuators computer vision machine learning control systems and software ecosystems.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations (ISO IEC FDA).
- Ability to manage budgets and perform in a dynamic resourceconstrained environment.
- Excellent problemsolving criticalthinking and innovative skills.
- Strong leadership qualities with experience in mentoring engineering teams.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills fluency in English (German proficiency is a plus).
- A passion for harnessing technology to improve healthcare and patient experiences.
