Job Title: Simulation Engineer

Location: Mossville IL Building AC

Duration: Full time

Description

The ePowertrain Simulation Engineer working in the ePowertrain NPI simulation team works closely with the ePowertrain component and subsystem teams (powersource power electronics motors and controls) to simulate the ePowertrain system performance for a particular ePowertrain configuration. This role will be responsible for executing ePowertrain NPI simulation requests and communicating results and/or learning. This role will also work with the ePowertrain simulation team to document our core simulation processes and ensure that he/she follows these processes. This role will help in developing new simulation capabilities that are necessary to predict ePowertrain system performance and durability.

Job Duties

This role will be responsible for executing ePowertrain NPI simulation requests and communicating results and/or learning. This role will help in developing new simulation capabilities that are necessary to predict ePowertrain system performance and durability.

DaytoDay Activities Include

  • Executing ePowertrain NPI simulation requests and communicating results/learning from this simulation activity.
  • Help develop and document our core simulation processes and ensure that he/she follows those processes.
  • Report progress on simulation requests.
  • Document significant results/findings of simulation activities.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering AND
  • At least 10 Years of Fulltime work experience (outside of academia) using 1D simulation to predict system performance.
  • Candidate must currently reside in the United States

Top Candidates will also have:

  • Advanced Engineering Degree
  • Experience developing and applying 1D physicsbased simulation to powertrain systems.

Positions Contributions to Work Group:

  • Executing ePowertrain NPI simulation requests and communicating results/learning from this simulation activity.
  • Help develop and document our core simulation processes and ensure that he/she follows those processes.
  • Report progress on simulation requests.
  • Document significant results/findings of simulation activities.

Typical task breakdown:

This role will be responsible for executing ePowertrain NPI simulation requests and communicating results and/or learning. This role will help in developing new simulation capabilities that are necessary to predict ePowertrain system performance and durability.

Interaction with team:

  • This employee will interact with the rest of the ePowertrain simulation team on a daily basis.

Work environment:

Office work environment. Collaboration with employees in other parts of the building is typical. Collaboration virtually with other parts of the world also common.

Education & Experience Required:

Required: Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

Preferred: Masters degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

Technical Skills (Required)

  • At least 10 years of experience performing 1D system simulation.
  • Education/Academia experience does not count to total required years of experience

(Desired)

  • Experience performing 1D simulation on power systems.

Soft Skills (Required)

  • Ability to communicate well with engineering peers in order to get critical information needed to successfully execute ePowertrain system simulations.
