Major responsibilities:
- Proactively drive procurement activities to meet category sales targets and new vendor acquisition objectives in collaboration with various stakeholders.
- Work closely with brands and suppliers to procure goods suitable for the targeted consumer.
- Perform category management including market opportunity analysis supplier and merchant selection and management negotiation and onboarding processes.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to manage effective vendor relationships identify improvement opportunities in service delivery cost and optimal business terms.
- Demonstrate strong vendor management skills conducting thorough reviews and negotiations to ensure compliance.
- Leverage external thirdparty resources to meet companys business objectives in the U.S. market.
- Develop a deep understanding of the assigned category including market trends products pricing competitive landscape and opportunities.
- Act as a project lead on various initiatives ensuring team goals are met.
- Handle other assignments as required.
Requirements
Basic:
- Proven experience in negotiating reviewing and managing vendor requirements including contracts policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated experience in category management and/or buying.
- Ability to think and act strategically and independently.
- Understanding of current market conditions and category trends.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively interact in a crossfunctional environment with all levels of executive management internally and externally.
- Over 5 years of experience ideally with major retailers or brands; experience in a multinational company and crossborder business is preferred.
- Strong influencing skills to persuade and close deals.
- Robust project management skills.
