Job Description

Growing biotech business BioLamina is seeking a Senior Upstream Process Engineer with substantial experience in mammalian upstream process development for manufacturing of recombinant proteins. We are looking for you who is prepared to take on a technical expertise role in a forwardthinking company. Main tasks and responsibilities:

The Senior Upstream Process Engineer will be part of the Technology and Operations team. The work is performed in crossfunctional teams in a highly collaborative competent and engaged environment.

  • Take lead and be our SubjectMatter Expert (SME) for upstream manufacturing processes of biotech products.
  • Ensure development of robust and scalable upstream processes for commercial manufacturing.
  • Work in close interaction with the R&D and Production team with continuous improvements and lifecycle management according to demands.
  • Responsible scaleup and technical transfers from R&D to Production and to external production sites.
  • Plan perform practical work and evaluate studies according to company quality system and guidelines.
  • Contribute to integration and knowledge sharing between different disciplines and functions in the organization.

Requirements:

  • PhD in Biotechnology or related area alternatively M.Sc. with significant relevant experience
  • A minimum of 5 years relevant biotech industrial experience
  • Extensive theoretical and practical knowledge in mammalian cell culture.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience of optimization and scaleup of upstream process design for commercial production of biotech products.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English Swedish a merit
