Assistant Nursing Director NICUEl Paso Texas The Assistant Director is a professional nurse who manages the daily operations of a department(s) with the Director of Nursing to provide services for patients while meeting quality legal organizational and medical staff goals. The Assistant Director is responsible for supporting the Director of Nursing by promoting the efficient operations to provide effective nursing care of a designated department(s). The Assistant Director comanages the department and works independently under the guidance of the Director of Nursing. The Assistant Director ensures compliance with regulatory agencies The Joint Commission and the Nurse Practice Act and promotes optimum health care delivery within budgetary guidelines. The Assistant Director demonstrates competence in the planning of care for the patient by providing leadership and organization of the daytoday operations by working cooperatively with ancillary services and the interdisciplinary team.This Assistant Director partners with the Director of Nursing and is responsible for department(s) on a 24 hour basis and serves as a consultant with the patients home nursing facility nursing staff and physicians. EducationGraduate of an accredited school of nursing.Bachelors degree required (in nursing preferred).Required Licenses/CertificationsDemonstrated proficiency in acute care nursing knowledge and skills. CertificationsCurrent state registration or eligibility to do so.BLSAny other certifications staff nurses in area managed are required.
