Job Description

WHO WE ARE
Founded in 2018 Converge is dedicated to ensuring all people can access high quality family planning care when they need it how they need it and where they live. As the Mississippi and Tennessee grantee of Title X – a national federal Family Planning Program – we collaborate with the state's public health agency health care providers insurance companies and community partners to build a health care system that places people at the center of family planning care. We also deliver training and technical assistance to providers and conduct policy advocacy and research activities that promote increased access to quality care. While our work is in the South the principles vision and work of Converge are universal and transferable well beyond our state borders. Converge has grown rapidly over the past 5 years and currently operates with a $10M budget.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Manage daytoday bookkeeping inclusive of coding and tracking of all financial transactions reconciling banks accounts maintaining accounting general ledgers and ensuring adherence to GAAP and fund accounting principles.
  • Support the implementation and adoption of Brex’s Bill Bay for accounts payable processing.
  • Use Brex to code and record all personnel’s credit card transactions and sync to QuickBooks.
  • Use QuickBooks to code and record all incoming revenue month end and year end journal entries.
  • Manage processes for seamless data collection from subrecipients (e.g health clinics that receive Title X funding through Converge); serve as a helpful resource to subrecipients in ensuring highquality reporting as required by the federal grant.
  • Review and analyze subrecipients’ expenditures and financial reports to assure spending is in compliance; identify and address any variances and/or areas of weakness.
  • Support the Director of Finance in the annual budgeting process by analyzing historical data; support the annual audit process and form 990 filing as needed.
  • Process and record payroll on a semimonthly basis.
  • Gain strong knowledge of Title X federal funds; identify and institute ways to streamline processes that allow for greater efficiency and better stewardship of funds.
WHO YOU ARE
  • You are an accounting professional with a demonstrated understanding of nonprofit finance. You bring knowledge in all aspects of daytoday nonprofit bookkeeping and accounting including GAAP and fund accounting principles. Experience with federal grants management is strongly desired.
  • You are a reliable task manager with impeccable attention to detail. You have strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multitask and work under deadlines. Your work product is meticulous and errorfree.
  • You are techsavvy and wellversed in commonly used accounting systems. You bring expertise using QuickBooks and Excel. Experience with Rippling payroll system and Brex expense management system is a plus.
  • You are a supportive and knowledgeable resource to others. You are able to guide others in adopting sound practices for financial data collection and reporting. You identify areas of weakness and coach others on process improvements.
  • You are an adaptable agile and selfled colleague. You possess a “get it done” attitude with the ability to stay focused and nimble in a dynamic environment. You are a selfstarter and willing to jump in and solve problems proactively.

LOCATION SALARY AND BENEFITS
This is a fulltime position that can be performed remotely anywhere in the U.S. or from Converge's office located in Ridgeland Mississippi. The salary for his position is $72000. Benefits include:

  • Insurance premiums for employees and dependents are currently covered 100% by Converge
