Job Description

Role Lead Mobility RAN
Function/Department UNOC/Technology RAN Ops
Location
Job Purpose UNOC is centralized Network Operations centre responsible for FCAPS
of Airtel Pan India network across all technologies and domains
through highly skilled People well stitched Processes & state of the art
Tools.
Radio Access being the most important Access layer technology the
first touch point for Customer Experiencing Airtel network the RAN
Ops is one of the pivotal functions of NOC whereas RAN Head role is
aligned with organizational objectives like:
Maximize Service and Network availability
Enhance customer experience
To achieve the objective RAN Head needs to
Play role of Single Point of Contact for Circles
Establish Manage and Modify Critical NOC processes like Incident
Management Change Management Performance Management
for RAN Ops
Manage large team of size >250
Manage Cross functional stake holders like CORE IP TX Security &
Management
Ensure seamless working of State of the Art Tools like Netcool
Remedy Airtel Works Mycom etc.
Analyse Incident trends across network and come up with
Improvement areas identified work on them and improve network
quality by reducing outages and improving RNA
Manage large sized Circle Field operations team and ensure
meeting of Field Ops KPIs
Ensure Time bound delivery of Change Management tasks with
First Time Right approach
Govern and ensure Timely acceptance of Fault free Nodes in
Network in order to support business needs
Define & track Critical RAN KPIs and improve further
Work with OEM partners and vendors
Ensure 24X7 resource availability in NOC
Generate Manage and Track other ADHOC reports pertaining to
Management requirement Regulatory requirement etc.
Ensure BCP model for RAN Ops from NOC
Key Result

Manage 24X7 Shift operations to handle P1 till P5 Network incidents
effectively
Deliver business needs pertaining to site roll out optimization etc
Improve RNA MTTR FTR
Achieve Airtel WFM KPIs
Define alarm correlations for correct ticketing and effective resolution
at Field/NOC
Achieve zero reporting issues of ROP and RNA
RNA sign off with Field Operations
Ensure 100% L2 level troubleshooting
Build the best team by fostering Digital DNA Inclusivity Diversity
Health & Work Place Safety
Operational
NOC Operations:
o MTTR<100 min
o Assignment time<10 min
o Incident resolution TAT>90%
o Incident closure TAT>95%
o Circle IoE RNA>99.5% & RON RNA>99.90%
o Analyse fault reports & generate Problem
cases >6 per year
o 100% First time right communication during
Critical Network incidents (P1&P2)
o Ensure 100% RFO availability with 48 hours of
incident resolution
o Effective emergency handling and OEM
escalation within 60 min of issue occurrence if
unresolved
o Lead outages on bridge and ensure
engagement of correct stakeholders
o Change success rate>99.5%
o Change cancellation/postponement<2%
o Emergency CRQ<10%
o Maintain NEs stay in latest S/w version
o Plan & Phase out EoL/EoS NEs
o Maintain CMDB
o Ensure 100% process compliance & successful
certifications for NOC (ISO/IEC etc.)

Knowledge &
Experience
Minimum 1215 years of working experience in Telecomm Industry
with experience in NOC and should have minimum 5 years excellent
knowledge of RAN Ops Management

ITIL frame work Understanding for Incident Management
Change Management Operations SLA OLA Governance
Effective Problem Management & Continual Service

Domain specialization:
2G 3G 4G 5G RAN Technologies preferably with Nokia
Ericsson & other OEM majors
Know How knowledge of latest technology trends like Virtualization
VRAN Open RAN MIMO
Excellent troubleshooting & trace analysis skills of Interdomain
(RANCS Core RANPS Core)
Good vendor partner management & negotiation skills
Experienced in Management & defining operational KPl's TAT etc.
Excellent analytical skills work experience on Improving RNA MTTR
etc.
Must have
technical/professional
qualification
B.E / B.Tech Electronics & Communications/Computer Science Engg.
ITIL/PMP etc. (preferred)
CCNA/CCNP etc. (preferred)
