Job Description

One of our prestigious clients in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is looking to hire a General Manager Procurement with 18 20 years of experience having at least 5 plus years in Offshore Rig building industry. And alligning to the shipbuilding /Rig building industry

Your future role

To lead the Procurement team and manage all purchasing and contracting activities for the company including procurement activities related to projects. The Procurement GM has the responsibility for ensuring the code of ethics following policy procedures and applicable local regulations. He also shall demonstrate strong leadership and managerial competencies including integrity accountability communication skills and commitment to teamwork and excellence in responsibilities such as selecting mentoring coaching supervising motivating and training all procurement staff.

Primary Accountabilities
  • Exercise a strong sense of urgency to maintain high personal performance while making decisions and allocating resources in a costefficient manner.
  • Mentor and improve the team performance.
  • Set and implement plans for Procurement team for better business participation and involvement more commitment more innovation creativity and higher satisfaction at work.
  • Prepare working reports and status updates of the procurement activities to the VP of PSCM
  • Monitor business trends and service availability to pay the for materials/services without sacrificing quality or delivery times.
  • Conduct evaluations of procurement staff coach train counsel and advise staff taking corrective action as needed.
  • Set work objectives; and direct supervise and review staff and staff assignments providing highlevel technical/administrative guidance on work requirements and methods.
  • Accountability for quality costs and on time delivery of the material and services for the Project
  • Ownership of the Procurement Plan for the materials and subcontracts scope
  • Develop and maintain Project Procurement Plans and Schedules for all Projects
  • Responsible for all project procurement activities related to all new build/MRO projects for rigs and ships.
  • Acting as the vocal point of PSCM with clients engineering operations business development and suppliers.
  • Oversees claim management with the suppliers.
  • Control Project Procurement Budget
  • Responsible for reporting monthly progress supplier claims and project cost summary to VP of PSCM and into the project.
  • Regularly updates suppliers cash out & project milestone recognition related to procurement.
  • Ensure records are maintained and procurements are documented from origination through completion.
Who we are looking for:
Experience:
  • Required1820 years of experience having at least 5 plus years in Offshore Rig building industry.
  • Ship building/Rig building/MRO/Equivalent Industry experience is mandatory.

Education:
Preferably Masters Degree in Business or supply chain management or Minimum bachelors degree in engineering Supply Chain Management or Business from an accredited university or college

Professional Qualifications: One of the below certificates is preferable:

  • Have professional supply chain certification such as MCIPS or CPSM
  • Preferably have project management qualification such as PPM
