Chief Legal Risk Governance Compliance Officer

One of our esteemed clients in the ship building industry is currently seeking a Chief Legal Risk Governance & Compliance Officer to be based in Dammam Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Job Overview

Oversee legal related matters risk governance and compliance activities whilst ensuring proper management of the cybersecurity and data management systems at the organization and maintaining business continuity and compliance in addition to sufficient CEO Office support.

Strategic Responsibilities

• Align division goals processes and resource allocation with the organizational strategy while maintaining awareness of commercial and business objectives.
• Ensure the accomplishment of organizational unit objectives by managing staff; planning and evaluating organizational unit activities.
• Define objectives identifies and evaluates trends and options chooses a course of action and evaluates outcomes.
• Provide professional guidance in the areas of legal risk governance and compliance to and for the Company.
• Support with strategic problems resolution and subjective decision making.

Managerial Responsibilities

• Supervise the entire work done by the team members and making sure it is completed on time without any delay.
• Lead the team to complete tasks and meet goals through delegation of responsibilities and supervising business operations.
• Set the vision and motivation of the team in order to achieve the sought objectives efficiently. Set appropriate and achievable deadlines.
• Track and report critical organizational unit performance results and escalate and negotiate business related issues to senior management.
• Accomplish staff results by communicating job expectations planning monitoring and appraising job results.

Functional Responsibilities

• Oversee all legal related matters and activities including consultation and representation of the organization in all legal duties whilst maintaining legal related policies and procedures and providing legal advice to the organization its executive management and Board.
• Oversee the organizations risk management & compliance framework policies and enablers whilst ensuring business continuity and maintaining a risk aware culture.
• Ensure compliance of all company policies and applicable laws through implementation monitoring and review of internal measures standards and reports.
• Oversee the administration of the CEO Office and ensuring effective planning and scheduling activities and logistical and archiving requirements is achieved.
• Oversee the management of the cybersecurity and data management through ensuring measurements and metrics are set within a governance framework and methodology whilst overseeing cybersecurity projects and monitoring the entire IT infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree of Law/Masters Degree of Law is preferred
• 15 years in Senior Legal Counsel or General Counsel role including 10 years in a leadership role.
• Saudi Nationals will be given first preference.
