The Opportunity A unique opportunity; Our Client is looking to add an experienced Auto Glass Technician who would like to expand on their daytoday scope of work. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager working fulltime in our Client's
Delta BC collision repair shop the
Auto Glass Assembly/Disassembly Technician will rely heavily on their previous Auto Glass Technician experience specific to assembly and disassembly. The successful candidate will take great pride in the 'attention to detail' required during reassembly to provide an excellent customer experience.
The successful candidate will be able to analyze troubleshoot dismantle align assemble and adjust mechanical equipment for repair or installation. The selected candidate will work as part of a 3person team specializing in the prerepair disassembly and postrepair assembly of vehicles including (importantly) all electronic calibrations. Someone with experience in Auto Glass who would appreciate the opportunity to work in a shop where staff is afforded the time and support to fix vehicles properly would be recommended to apply.
Required Experience and Qualifications - Practical experience working within a Collision Shop Dealership or Glass Repair Centre required
- Training and handson experience installing Auto Glass
- Automotive Glass Technician Certificate is considered a significant asset though not a requirement
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and ICBC Glass Express is a MUST
- Complete fluency in English both written and orally
- Highly detailed and processoriented
- Concern for safety and a responsible work attitude
- Ability to work Monday – Friday onsite
Responsibilities of the Position - Repair and replace vehicle windshields calibrating accordingly once completed
- Disassemble vehicle components for repair diagnosing issues in the process and reporting these to the Estimator as part of the Disassembly Team
- Reassemble repaired vehicles while conducting ongoing systems and electronic verification as part of the Reassembly Team
- Maintain consistent communication with the Estimator(s) responsible for that particular vehicle(s)
- Complete calibration for all mechanical & electrical vehicle components to ensure all functionality is restored to 'preaccident' working condition
- Collaborate with Collision Repair Team and Rock Chip Specialist on site when and as needed to complete the repair process
- Use appropriate tools safety equipment and parts according to specific job requirements
