Title: Software Engineer
Location: Littleton/Waterton CO
Duration: 15 months contract on W2
Description:
Seeking a Guidance Navigation and Control (GNC) Systems Engineer with a strong GNC algorithm development background to support Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD). The tasks are to design missile guidance and fire control / battle management for system performance improvement. Other responsibilities include performance assessment and analysis conducting trade studies written and oral communication of the design and analysis efforts and simulation code documentation. Contractor will be working first shift schedule starting as early as 7:00am. PAC3 IRAD patriot missile.
Designs develops implements verifies and tests algorithms to perform guidance navigation and control of aircraft spacecraft launch vehicles and upper stages during powered and coast phases of flight earth orbit interplanetary cruise and orbital insertion as well as during staging events. Navigation functions include the statistical processing of measured data points and their substitution into algorithms simulating physical reality. Guidance functions include the formulation of specific equations and control laws to achieve a desired position in space. Control design and analyses processes consist of the development of the control requirements for aircraft launch vehicles and/or spacecraft.
Basic Qualifications:
Must have experience with controls feedback and regulation statistical processes and strong analytical skills of large data sets.
Ability to effectively communicate orally and in written form.
Prior experience with computer programming to include creating programs from scratch as well as diligently researching very larger system simulations to be able to modify and add to those simulation codes.
Desired Skills:
Experience with the C and Fortran programming languages.
Midcourse guidance law Kalman filtering numerical methods and 6DOF simulation experience is a significant plus.
PAC3 missile experience.
Familiarity with Unix/Linux and shell scripting is desired.
