Job Summary:
As a Director of Product at Capillary you will help us build the foundations that will power the next generation of consumer engagement. You will be critical to the success of the products your team is building. Strategically this means partnering with clients key stakeholders and other members of the Capillary team to define the product vision build the roadmap prioritize the program and product backlog define/track key performance indicators and ultimately be accountable for the overall program delivery. Tactically this means leading the product development team on a day to day basis to ensure successful delivery of the product.
You must be an excellent communicator as you will help lead a team of user experience designers architects developers and test engineers to continuously deliver value. As a Program Director the team members will rely on you to clarify requirements guide decision making and resolve blockers to keep the team moving forward at full speed. You must be able to help shape the long term strategic direction of a product as well as dig in to understand the intricate details of how the product works while considering constraints such as timeline budget and scope.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Recruits interviews hires and trains a small number of program managers that will report to you.
Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Define program objectives
Develop program and product roadmap and MVP
Develop epics user stories and acceptance criteria to capture the needs of stakeholders
Manage and prioritize backlog
Release management and golive planning
Collaboration across client and product development teams
Drive consensus in achieving solutions removing roadblocks
Evaluate product progress against defined goals
Interface directly with clients to explain progress and technical solutions
Connect planned work to business strategy and to what makes the company more successful
Involved in Sales Processes (RFI / RFP)
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Are passionate about solving complex problems with technology solutions
Engage in every phase of the product life cycle: from initial discovery to product launch to continuous improvement / continuous development
Have at least 7 years experience as a product manager product owner business analyst product analyst or project manager
Expertise using collaboration tools such as Jira Confluence Azure Devops Rally Notion etc.
Are comfortable leading team activities such as:
Requirements elicitation
Product roadmapping
Backlog refinement
Agile ceremonies: Planning Stand up Demo Retro etc.
Can draw from experience building web and apidriven applications
Clear communication on progress and/or blockers.
Excellent understanding of how other disciplines work and function in the software development process.
Interpersonal skills to influence others around them towards company / project goals.
Strong cross organizational collaborative signals.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a closely related field and at least seven years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting/standing at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
Travel:
This position may require travel up to 10% of the time.
