EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Essential Qualifications/Experience:
.
Nationally recognized/certified university qualification related to space engineering and or mathematical modelling
. Knowledge of NATO responsibilities and organization
. Advanced research and analytical skills
. Experience developing complex mathematical models of space
. Understanding of current space capabilities particularly focused on space based ISR
. Experience in orbital mechanics modelling
. Excellent spoken and written English communication and presentation skills as demonstrated by recent experience (within the past 5 years) in programming for web applications
. Recent experience building mathematical models using MATLAB powerBI or other modelling and simulation tools/software
Desirable Qualifications/Experience:
. NATO and/or military experience
. Knowledge of NATO or National intelligence processes
DUTIES/ROLE:
. This task references APSS and Space business area analysis and modeling support under direction of the APSS Programme Manager
. The analysis and modeling work shall be carried out in sprints whereby each sprint is independent. The mathematical modeler will be required to add functionality to existing mathematical space models or to develop a unique and new analysis. The work will be executed mainly offsite but some sprint will be onsite at the NCI Agency facilities in The Hague or SHAPE in Mons or other NATO locations. In coordination with the APSS Programme Manager most of the work can be performed offsite
. Will be part of a team and will work using an Agile and iterative approach using multiple sprints. Each sprint is planned for a rough duration of 4 weeks with an average 38 hours per week. The content and scope of each sprint will be agreed with the service delivery manager during the sprintplanning meeting
