Job Description

  • Highly sought after NSW Government Organisation
  • Up to $609/day Super
  • 7month Contract Role

Our client is a large NSW Government organisation who are seeking Master Scheduler to join their team.


The Master Scheduler is responsible for the maintenance of the master schedule for each project. Working as part of the Systems Group Delivery team this role is responsible for overall project scheduling and tracking working closely with the project managers to ensure continual work across all projects and the effective use of resources to meet agreed milestones. The Master Scheduler will inform demand and resource management to support the objectives of the Systems Group Delivery team and wider Systems Group Solutions Delivery group.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Formulate and develop advanced scheduling that gives continual work flow for the overall Systems Group Delivery Portfolio in order to ensure all components of the project are completed within the expected delivery timeframes.
  2. Maintain and monitor master (and short term) schedules for each project (in conjunction with Project Managers & the Enterprise PMO in order to ensure effective project delivery.
  3. Identify and record the progress of work to baseline milestones in order to identify corrective actions.
  4. Coordinate interproject dependencies including equipment and resource allocation in order to ensure effective service delivery.
  5. Work collaboratively with Systems Group Delivery team to inform the demand and resource management needs of the Systems Group Solutions Delivery group.
  6. Build capability of project managers in scheduling practices and compliance this may require coaching and on the job training.

Selection Criteria:
  1. Degree in relevant discipline or significant experience relevant to financial management in a large organisation.
  2. Track record of successfully providing master scheduling PMO services for a range of Systems Group and transformation programs.
  3. Welldeveloped analytical and reporting skills.
  4. Sound knowledge of project management disciplines and methodology.
  5. Ability to address and meet focus capabilities as stated in the Position Description.
