The Finance function not only reports and reviews the performance of the Bank it increasingly questions and guides the business to develop within the valuecreation framework offering a deep understanding and analysis of the banks performance and operations to support the board level of the bank to manage the business effectively and efficiently
This role supports the Head of FP&A who is responsible for all month end reporting development of MI packs participation in forecasting and budget exercises ad hoc requests supporting TM development
The role gives the opportunity for regular interaction with the Wholesale Banking division including the European branch network treasury function and the wider finance function (local and head office) as part of explaining the financials budget and forecasting and collaborating on crossfunctional projects
Job Context
Reporting to the Head of FP&A and working closely at times with the CFO and Senior Management this role requires close partnering with the business both in London and across EuropeEnvironment is changing fast and the role requires adaptability to this change defining the correct MI across the business ensuring that we develop the necessary MIS to support these requirements
Responsibilities Accountabilities & Deliverables
Reporting for CSuite and local boards including direct engagement with CFO and Heads of Wholesale Banking and Treasury
Financial modelling including budgeting and forecasting and ownership of review documents
Building managing and influencing key relationships with our UK and European offices includes Heads of Coverage Teams and Support functions
Challenge decision making including returns metrics and cost expenditure
Creating and monitoring key financial and nonfinancial metrics
Adhoc Financial analysis/Business Support
It is highly desirable if you have previous exposure to
Delivering strategic insights
Identifying key market trends
Having previously acted as aFinance SME to support groupwide strategic transformation agenda including participationin crossfunctional working groups
Knowledge
Advanced excel skills ability to analyze and interrogate data experience of using reporting tools (COGNOS TM and Power BI desirable)
Business performance management including planning reporting and analysis
Financial Modelling (Essential)
Client Level Management Information (Desirable)
Experience
Prior FP&A experience in Banking
Transaction Banking Real Estate or Treasury product knowledge preferred
Budgeting and Forecasting
Building / Managing stakeholder relationship with Front Office
Attributes
Selfmotivated and ability to work independently articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills strong team ethic
