EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Essential Qualifications/Experience
The System Support Engineer and Technical Instructor will hold a university degree at a nationally recognized/certified University in the related discipline (technical subject with substantial Information Technology (IT) or Computer Sciences subjects) A Master of Science Degree is recommended
Exceptionally the lack of a university degree may be compensated by the demonstration of particular abilities civilian/military qualifications or experience of interest to NCI Agency
Additionally it is considered highly desirable if you hold formal qualifications certifications and training in
Microsoft Windows SQL Server BizTalk Server SharePoint Server
Microsoft Azure Platform Services
Microsoft Azure Devops Services
Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert
Microsoft Certified DevOps Engineer Expert
Microsoft Certified Enterprise Administrator Expert
Certifications in automation tools (eg Ansible)
IT Service Management domain
Demonstrate as a minimum months (within the last years) relevant experience in an system support post with a background in System engineering and demonstrable experience in
Microsoft Windows Server and Windows Active Directory environment installation and maintenance
NATO FAS (such as NCOP) installation support and troubleshooting
NATO FAS (such as NCOP) testing and troubleshooting in V&V and production environments
System and Webbased applications troubleshooting and fault analysis
Windows WSUS and ePO environments Installation and maintenance
Familiarity with modern software development practices and Agile methodologies
Creating and reviewing system documentation and status reports Service Oriented Architecture and associated tools (eg SOAP UI Fiddler)
Virtualised environments (eg HyperV VMware) Installation and maintenance
Experience in technical document creation review and maintenance ensuring compliance with current industry standards and practices
Proven record of accomplishment of conducting technical training sessions including online and interactive training modules in operational environment on NATO Functional Systems (in particular NCOP)
Creating and reviewing NATO Functional Systems training materials
Knowledge on Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) standards
Experience in network communications and protocols including TCP/IP and DNS
Technical and Analytical Skills Proficient in modern software engineering practices and tools with a strong ability to analyze complex technical issues
Certified "NATO CIS Instructor" (ref NATO course ID )

DUTIES/ROLE
Perform system administration and maintenance of the NCI Agency NCOP systems and deployable training systems maintenance in a Microsoft Windows Server environment Carry out indepth system troubleshooting fault finding and analysis of system malfunctions
Support sites remotely or onsite to operate install monitor and maintain the assigned systems subsystems or assets
Perform technical site surveys for sites to be installed
Perform system deployment and software installation (remotely or onsite)
Analyse and track deficiencies and change requests to the software baselines in the NCI Agency tracking systems (ITSM Microsoft Azure JIRA)
Perform software testing or other relevant Quality Assurance activities for new baselines
Maintain clear and comprehensive system documentation for both technical staff and endusers
Review system documentation and technical standard procedures
Document appropriate actions to enable system administration and troubleshooting
Develop training materials including online modules for a range of Microsoft technologies and for NCOP (eg classroom presentations student manuals and training dataset) using MS Office Products and functional systems
Design and deliver training sessions to technical staff (eg system administrators) in production environment on NATO Functional Systems and in particular NCOP
Provide knowledge transfer to other team members
Perform other duties as may be required in the area of support testing and technical training
