RN Oncology

Department: Oncology Unit

Shift: 18:30 - 07:00 Monday to Friday 3 days 12-hour shift

Bonus upon completion based on contract commitment:

• 16 weeks - $1500
• 26 weeks - $2500

• Implements and monitors patient care plans.

• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.

• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.

• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.

• Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

• Complexity of Work: Within the scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

• Must be able to work in a stressful environment.

• Personal Protective Equipment: Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

• This department population includes medical, oncology, and end of life patients.

• Chemo education through ONS preferred, but not required.

• Only those experienced will be expected to administer chemotherapy.

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

• Ascension Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)
