Hiire is helping Schoolyear a Dutch fastgrowing startup hire a Software Engineer to join their engineering team as a foundational member and help them impact the educational tech space

By building one of the worlds largest remote desktop clusters specifically designed for securing digital exams were ensuring teachers can test student skills with real applications fully isolated and secure without depending on their students devices

Schoolyear provides shortlived remote desktop sessions for use during exams such that students can work with real applications without relying on their own devices

Youll make an impact in educators lives by providing them with the best IT service to make digital exams fairer and more secure

• Infrastructure development building the control panel for a largescale remote desktop cluster spread out across multiple data centers

• Control thousands of VMs (virtual machines) develop custom network routers and tackle resource scheduling challenges This is not your typical CRUD application

• Develop the VM guest agent to bring extra functionalities to the endusers

• Musthave

  • Multiyear experience in software application development (must include architectural roles such as lead on a greenfield project or staff engineer)

  • Experience in computer infrastructure and networking

  • Experience with a Backend language (we use Golang) PostgreSQL

  • VPN knowledge

  • Fluency in English both verbal and written

  • Critical thinking and a sharp attention to detail

  • Learningoriented willing to try new things and a motivated spirit

  • Experience working remotely and in a synchronous environment

  • Located in Europe
